This book invites us to celebrate the Mexican festival of the Day of the Dead: each letter introduces a Spanish word (for which a glossary is appended) and is illustrated by grinning skeletons engaging in activities typical of this special day. A preamble depicts a family engaged in making papier-mache skeletons and these folk-art traditions with their use of brilliant colour are put to great effect throughout the book.
