In this simple re-telling of a WestAfrican trickster tale, a wily rabbit must fulfill three seemingly impossible tasks for the Sky God in order to gain the wisdom he longs for: he tricks a big fish, a wild cow, and a fierce leopard, and learns in a comic denouement that wisdom dictates that he can outrun as well as outwit his victims. The author uses exuberant illustration using West African motifs and traditional colours to great effect.
