Leaving the idyllic island he calls home and life with his Granny, Uncle Cecil and beloved dog Rufus to go to London to live with his mother is a huge wrench for young Clinton. Days of herding his Granny's cows and fishing with his uncle have to be left behind.. Although he loves his new baby sister, his stepfather is nice and school is ok, life in London seems very grey. A moving short story (30 pages, 7 black and white line drawings) ensues in which Clinton's hidden cow herding skill is dramatically revealed and his love of man's best friend is unexpectedly rewarded . Readers will readily identify with Clinton's character and his experiences in this fulfilling read.
