This latest story about Lulu shows how books continue to play an important part in her life. Her fondness for the nursery poem 'Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary' is the inspiration for a gardening project of her own. Naturally, this involves trips to the library to research the flowers she wants to grow. Whilst waiting for her seeds to develop, she makes her own book of flower pictures and strings of decoration to recreate the poem in her own little corner of the garden. Rosalind Beardshaw's brightly coloured illustrations perfectly capture the energy and imagination of this likeable character.
