One in a series of very simple and accessible biographies in which a couple of lines of text are accompanied by full page stylised colour illustrations. The artist's life is described; including her having polio and the accident which led to her learning to draw and paint while convalescing. The way in which Frida used painting as a way to express herself despite illness and pain is emphasised. There is a double page timeline with facts and photographs at the end for adults/teachers. This series is a welcome addition to biographies for early readers.
